“Does this include any of the sailors in those photos?”
“Yes it does. Bring them down here.”
Carlos reached up to the large silver framed photo which was the center piece of all the photos on the book shelves. Brian absorbed the Lagefeld cologne that the boy was wearing.
“Here are the six of us who were together on the USS Nevada, on that famous day in ‘41: Johnnie Torrio, a true tough guy from Philadelphia; Elton Summers, black and genuinely beautiful from Louisiana, Dan Horowitz, a New Yorker’s New Yorker; yours truly, Brian Smith, a Tennessee hill billy from central casting; your uncle, Jesus Segrado, a man who has always lived up to his name; and Pauli Sorensen, Wisconsin farm boy and five alarm fire.”
Jesus came back to the dining room table with a large pot of coffee and a bowl of biscuits.
“Are you OK with this Jesus?”
“Absolutely.”
