me that I had to have a date for the movie, because they had eight tickets and Adam had asked both Justin and myself to come with dates to the movie. Before I could say anything, Justin continued on to say that he had a close friend of his - Aly (not her real name) - to come to the movie with him, so if I had anyone in mind that would come to the movie with me. I was flooded with emotions, as I didn't know how to react. I was very upset with Adam, disappointed in the whole movie event, and dejected that Justin had found a date.

I skipped lunch, as I was too upset to eat. Instead, I called, one of the few girl friends that I had - Lucy (not her real name) - who was in town for the summer as well, to join me for the movie - my treat.

We went for the movie, but somehow I managed to set it up where Justin and I were next to each other, with our dates on either side. Aly was beautiful, tall like Justin, brunette, and was wearing a short, black dress with a thin chain and a hear pendant. All throughout the movie, I was restless, and constantly moved my arm in hopes of "accidentally" touching or holding Justin's hand, even though I was terrified even with the thought of his and others reactions.

When we left from there, Lucy dropped me home and Justin went to drop Aly home. I thanked Lucy for coming with me for the movie as my date (she was seeing someone then) and bid her goodnight.

I went upstairs to our apartment and waited for Justin to come back so I could discuss the movie and his thoughts on the crazy and haphazard plot was. However, I waited to almost an hour, but he didn't come home. I fell asleep waiting. I woke up in the morning with some noise in our room. It was Justin, and he was getting a bag ready with his work clothes. I asked him if everything was ok, and he said that he was going back to Aly's place and that he would come to work directly from there. He also said that he was sorry to not be able to give me a ride to work, and that if it was okay with me to walk to work instead (it was about 6-7 blocks from where we lived). I just nodded. He thanked me for being understanding and left.

That was the worst day yet for my summer. However, worse was yet to come. I decided to hold off on telling him about my feelings. About ten days later, Adam, Jay and their girlfriends had all come over to our place for Adam's birthday. At that time, Justin said that he had an announcement to make. He said that he and Aly were now officially dating. That was definitely the worst day of my life.

Today, Justin lives on the west coast; he is happily married to Aly and they are expecting their first child. I continue to be friends with him, as he is a gem, and a great friend. I value the friendship over anything else. I still keep in touch with him and have even visited him a couple of times since. We talk every so often and our conversations are still on politics, sports, and nature.

 KEEP WRITING!
Enjoyed what you wrote - keep your thoughts coming. They are real, and that is important. Most of the postings on this site focus on sex, but that's not always - nor often - reality. You are. BardOhio
