pals then than I do now, and I always had someone to talk to. I’ve been too busy with school to make friends like that here. I always had my guys around for me, back then, and we were there for each other, whatever happened – girls, grades, money, parents, whatever - just like you were there for me tonight.” And he looked up at me, with those deep dark eyes behind their long silky lashes, and suddenly those sleepy eyes were burningly intense, and he leaned up off the couch to where I was sitting next to him, and lightly kissed me on the mouth, fully lip-to-lip. As he broke the kiss, he whispered, “Thanks for being one of my guys,” never detaching those deep, lustrous eyes from mine.

I was in shock – despite my lustful hopes of making it with this hot stud muff I would have never taken advantage of his self-induced drunkenness to entice him to my lair, and while I didn’t know if he had any such inclinations, and no real hope that he would respond favorably to me even if he did, I never in my wildest dreams expected him to get the ball rolling. I looked at him stupidly and said “I didn’t know that you had ‘guys’, but I’m glad – and honored – to be one of them. I thought that you were always with Zoe, or other girls.”

He lay back on the couch, his legs spread. “I like girls sometimes, but I prefer guys – this past couple of years being with Zoe just proved that to me, and I didn’t realize that until tonight, when I talked to you. You quoted Shakespeare to me – ‘To thine own self be true’ – and I needed to hear it, and there you were with it. I wanted to get through school and pass the Bar and be admitted without any problems, no controversies, no ‘issues’, no dramas – and no ‘outings’. Zoe was kind of protection from all that, and I see that, as you said, I was using her for that, as much as she was using me for – whatever. Better off that she’s gone, so I can start out fresh, and start a new life under better, more honest circumstances.”

I said, grinning at him, “Do those new circumstances include guys older than high school?”

He said softly, “You bet they do.” And kissed me again, with a little tongue this time, and we turned towards each other on the couch.

I pulled his t-shirt out of his cut-off jeans, and over his head, and saw his bare chest for the first time in real time, not in my fantasies. It was almost the way I had dreamed it, but not quite as hairy as I had imagined. Still, he had a nice pelt of long, dark, silky hair across his well-formed pecs, with a small patch between them, and a well-defined trail from his navel to his bushy pubes. His six-pack abs were clear and smooth, and well-defined. I gave him no time to repent, but pushed him back on the couch, and he pulled my own polo
