The following morning Zach met up with Shaun at the beach, the same spot where they talked with each other the night before this time they had surf gear on. They had just finished surfing and dripping wet they sat down and dried off a bit.

“How’s Jeanne doing?” asked Shaun.

“Same I guess from what happened to our mom and then to Roy.”

“How’s your dad doing now a days?”

“Same too, he’s always in his moods either from too much liquor, not even of his meds, or too much of his meds.”

“Sorry to hear that dude.”

“Thanks.”

“You’re one strong kid.”

“I try to be, for everyone including Cody.”

“You know I can’t picture Jeanne the mother type.”

“Oh she’s not, I’m the mother, the father, and the uncle rolled into one.”

“Shit, that must be tough?” asked Shaun.

“No, I love Cody, he’s a great kid.”

“He must be getting older now?”

“Yeah he’s five now.”

Zach and Shaun kept glancing at each other from time to time with smiles on their voices and every time they got caught looking at the other they would break out in laughter. All the laughter that was going on between the two were from nerves.

Later on that day Zach was putting his surfboards away in his van. Zach turned around when he heard a woman’s voice say hey monkey. It was Zach’s girlfriend, Tori

“Hey monkey,” said Zach right before kissing Tori on the lips. Zach pulled away from Tori quickly.

“So what are you doing down here?” asked Zach to Tori.

“Just walking my dog on the beach.”

“That’s cool.”

Tori walked away and a few seconds later Shaun was by Zach’s side. Shaun was helping Zach get his Surfboard in his van.

“Thanks.”

“You’re welcome dude.”

“Want to go out for some beers or something or are you taking off?” asked Zach.

“No, I’ll grab a beer.”

“Really?” asked Zach excited.

“Yeah.”

Shaun walked away to play frisbee with Tori’s dog and Tori walked back to Zach. Both Zach and Tori where staring at Shaun.

“So, how did you get down here?” asked Zach to Tori.

“Oh, Billy gave me a ride.”

“Oh.”

“Who’s that?” asked Tori about Shaun.

“That’s Shaun.”

“Gabe’s brother?” asked Tori in shock.
“Yeah.”

Shaun turned around and threw the frisbee in Zach’s direction and Zach caught it. Shaun ran over to Zach and Tori.

“So are we going to have some beers or are you going to talk shit about me all night?” asked Shaun laughing, first looking at Zach and then to Tori. Shaun walked over to Tori. Shaun was smiling and chewing on a piece of gum, Shaun looked so sexy. Shaun had a shaved head, full red lips perfect teeth when he smiled, dark eyes, and a well built body.

“Hey, I’m Tori,” said Tori shaking Shaun’s hand.

“Yeah, I remember you. You were about 13 years old with messed up hair but I still remember you and I even bought you guys some wine coolers and you got sick at
