The Deck

I have always considered myself straight. I mean I have checked out guys at the gym on occasion but they were so good looking that any guy would be hard pressed not to admire them, but I never thought it meant anything. Not once has doing anything sexually with another guy crossed my mind, at least not until recently.

It started when my wife left town for a few weeks to visit her mother. I wasn’t happy to be left alone for so long. I had no idea what I was going to do with so much free time. Luckily my buddy Bryce saved the day. He was planning to rebuild his deck later in the summer but since I had the time he moved up his schedule so I could help.

Bryce and I had been friends since our twenties. There had always been friendly competition between us. Things like who could get the most girls, who could build the better body and similar petty stuff. Even now in our thirties we still tried to out do each other at the gym. Like most friends we’d seen each other naked and shared a tent and even a bed once but there was never anything sexual about it. We were always just buddies. I’m not sure what happened to change our relationship over those few weekends but change it did.

The first couple of weekends went well. We had most of the old wood torn up despite an early heat wave. We had a good time drinking beer and joking about my wife thinking I actually went on vacation because of the deep tans we were getting from spending hours in the sun shirtless.

Our third Saturday started like the others, early and hot. It was time to start laying the new decking which would require we work together. In the close quarters our sweaty bodies would often come in contact with each other. I started to enjoy Bryce’s slick skin brushing over mine. Both of us had always been considered good-looking guys. We both stood around 6’ with muscular cut bodies with a 10# difference in weight and that was where the similarity ended. Bryce has a rugged look with dark hair, green eyes and a mat of black hair covering his torso. I have more of a pretty boy look with blonde hair, brown eyes and far less body hair. I’m smooth except for a line of light hair running down my stomach. I’d seen him half naked many times but today I found myself taking a closer look. I watched his muscles move under his slick skin and the way his damp trek shorts clung to his firm ass. Whenever he bent over to grab a plank I was drawn to the sweat running from his underarm and the thick hair spiking out from his deep pit.

The change in conversation brought me back to earth. He was asking me if I was doing ok without the wife around. I told him I was holding steady. He laughed and asked if both my hands were sore yet. I brushed off the joke telling him no just one so far. He pressed the issue saying he didn’t think he could last that long with himself and some porn. I changed the topic and concentrated on the work. The truth was I was horny as hell and talking about it made it worse.
