It was dark inside his truck and the only light substantial enough for me to focus my eyes on was the lonely glow of the headlights illuminating the road ahead. All sense of flirting and playfulness had faded away and was replaced by an intense electricity in the air once we were on the road. We were both silent and for the longest time the only sound was from the wind that gushed through the cracked windows. I made a few failed attempts at conversations and finally gave up, gazing blankly out the window at the shadowlike scenery that past lost in my own thoughts of expectation and fantasy.

At first, I didn’t even realize that you had put music on until I heard a familiar melody flowing out of the speakers. I heard you humming lightly to the tune and then finally realized what was playing. I chuckled quietly to myself and shook my head in disbelief and you turned and looked at my with a goofy sideways grin on your face.

“Do you have something against Oasis?”

The light tone of your voice made my tingly inside and I asked myself internally for at least the thousandth if I was dreaming.

“Not at all, in fact, would you believe that this is actually one of my favorite albums? Which is why I think that it‘s so funny that you put this particular CD in. I didn‘t expect this to be the type of music you would listen to.”

“Oh, I see. What did you expect, 50 cent? You know, for someone who says they are obsessed with me you certainly don’t know me very well.”

“Well, that’s not fair. You’re the one who has the vicious girlfriend and the 20 person posse. That makes it a little hard to even get near you…let alone find out what music you like. Oh, and I don’t think I used the exact word obsessed.”

“Oh, no, I think you did. What was it now something about the statuesque form of my body and the piercing color of my eyes.”

I would have killed you if you hadn’t been driving and absolutely adorable. Instead I gave you a playful push on the shoulder.

“You know what else isn’t fair…that face of yours. Maybe if you were a little less perfect then I could control myself.”

This time you were the one who was blushing and I was the one laughing. I went to give you another playful shove only this time you caught my hand and held onto it. I immediately slid closer to you until our hips were almost touching. You lifted both of our hands above my head resting your arm around my shoulder. We sat there driving along the dark country road listening to the sound of Oasis. Being so close to you still made my heart do crazy things and my breath come out in shallow sputters but I also felt completely content. I had, at that moment, all I wanted.


I know I am a tease but there will be more soon…and it will get very steamy. So keep looking out for part 4 and I promised no one will be disappointed…especially our lovers…
