I was working in a pet shop as a night stock boy and being that I was having hard times with paying alimony, my funds were short most of the time. My boss knew of my plight and had set up a kind of makeshift bedroom for me in the back stock room. My job was to restock the shelves and clean fish tanks. I would work from the time the store closed, until about midnight. Then I would rest for a few hours on the daybed that had been set up for me. I would get up and continue my work until the store opened.
On Thursdays, there was always a late night delivery of tropical fish and they had to be put into aquariums before they suffocated for lack of oxygen in the plastic bags. That too, was my job. I was very happy to have this job and I didn't mind the living conditions. My boss had also set up a little kitchen for the workers to hibernate in during their lunch breaks. I had a small free standing closet and dresser that I kept my clothes in. There was even a shower in the employee's bathroom and I felt as though this was my little Valhalla.
One Thursday evening, about 9:00, the new shipment of fish arrived. It was a large order due to our competition fish store closing down and our order was doubled. I set to the task of getting them acclimated to the water and was too busy to notice the door to the back entrance opened. I had the music on a little loud and was singing along with the tune that was being played. I turned around and there stood my boss, Dick. I almost jumped out of my skin. He apologized for startling me and said that since it was such a large order of fish, he came in to help me put them in the tanks. In the two years I have worked for him, this was the first time he had ever come in during the evening.
We set to the task of putting the fish away, which took about 2 hours. Each time Dick leaned over to get some fish out of the styro boxes, his cute bubble butt would stand out like a beacon. He was a very handsome young man and only a couple of years older than myself. He had the most alluring green eyes. I guess I had always lusted for him ever since he hired me. But, I knew he was straight and was a great family man.
I could tell that he had been drinking a bit because he kinda slurred his words and almost fell over a couple of times when reaching down to pick up the bags of fish. At one point, he fell against a shelf, knocking some boxes of fish food off the shelf. I quickly grabbed hold of him to let him get his balance, and then I picked up the boxes that were knocked over. I suggested that he go lay down for a bit and I would take care of the fish. He staggered over to the bed and plunked down with a thud. It took me about another hour to finish putting the fish in the tanks and clean up any water that had spilled on the floor. This took me up until
