Better Late Than Never.

Probably everyone who reads this was happily experiencing some aspect of gay sex by the time that they were a few hours out of puberty, or so it seems when I read the stories. But it did not happen that way for me. I was thirty-nine, three years, ago, when the “first time” event finally occurred.

Don’t get me wrong, I was not virginal. Probably most things that could physically sexually be done with another person, I had done. But all with females. I was happily married and used to make comments that we did more in our bedroom than any porn movie producer could dream up. It was largely true, in my mind, and I was a great aficionado of hetero porn. I had never thought about being aroused with another male, not that it offended my prurient senses in any way, there was just not any conscious thought of it that I recall. The gay life was as foreign to my lifestyle and way of thinking as was a coven of vampires, perhaps. If there are covens of vampires, I don’t know.

At a business conference in a jet-plane-away city, several of my colleagues and I were living the good life on company expenses, including a very tiny hotel with exceptionally nice quarters. I had ended up with a small suite and early in the week of the conference, we all ended up in my suite one evening with lots of beer and alcohol and lots of room service food, and cigars. And a good time was had by all. By the time that the last stragglers were out the door, the place was an absolute chaos of a mess and reeked of the cigar smoke, stale beer and smelled like a cheap bar on the bad side of town. Even with the windows open! My friend and buddy, Mike, had stayed behind to help me clean up and we gave it a bit of effort before Mike convinced me that the maid could do a much better job in the morning.

I complained that I would likely have trouble sleeping in the smoky area, and Mike suggested that I just come to his room to spend the night. That seemed like the best idea in a long time. I packed up my shave kit, some clean underwear, and several more cold beers of course, and we headed for his room.

We both showered and freshened up and seemed to be getting our “second wind” as we continued to shoot the breeze, and enjoy the breeze on the balcony. The beers were plentiful and we kept pouring them down. At some point, bed was an inevitability and we closed down for the night. We were sharing a king bed, and that did not seem to bother either one of us, though I did make the comment as we turned the lights out that I did not recall ever having slept with a man. Mike thought that was funny for some reason, and admitted that he had not either, so we would just have to make the best of it and just “see what happens”. I thought nothing further along those lines, but I did not just drift off into dreamland for some reason. I was anticipating something, but not sure just what.
