What's the weirdest thing you've had to research for a story?

For me, it's probably the current one: blood-borne diseases (because I'm creating a post-apoc world where vampirism is a disease). Several months ago, it probably was semi-automatic handguns, specifically Berettas, for a novel-in-progress. LOL (Half-expected Homeland Security to knock on my door. ROFL)
