Okay, got it. This is starting to clear up for me a little. My classmate and I have a writing assignment and it ended up being a gay male romance story. Is it necessary to mention any of the terms listed above in the story?

Please believe me when i'm telling you that i'm taking notes on this subject and you're a huge help.

What's a 'flamer?' Is that what they call the slightly feminine gay men?

Flamers... not necessarliy effeminate, but definately over the top. It's almost like an exagerated act sometimes. Think Carson on Queer Eye.

What are 'poppers'? I've read somewhere that some gay men use them during sex. Is that true? I have NO idea of what that is.
Okay, for me it's been awhile. Been clean since November 2, 1992, but if they're still the same from then... it's an inhaled amphetamine. Like sniffing paint or glue, it's gives you an instant rush. Makes your heart pound and your head light. Somebody with more recent experiance may update you.

And what does it mean to 'breed' a man? My friend saw a DVD on the adult shelf, saying something about a guy looking to hook up with as many guys as possible to 'breed' him. I have no idea on that. Usually "Breeder" is a derogatory term for straight couples with kids.

And what does it mean when a gay man is referred to as being a 'Bear'? Or a 'cub?' And what the hell is a 'Twink'? Previous definition is great. Examples: Sean Connery is a bear. Orlando Bloom is kinda twinkish -- but he's getting a little old. They tend to look teens to early twentish.

the smartest thing i ever heard a straight person say was my psych teacher senior year in high school and it was something along the lines of 'if it wasnt for homosexuals and everyone got married and had kids the world population would be dangerously high.'

My friend and I went back to the video store yesterday evening and got the courage to purchase the DVD. We glanced at it late last night...Okay, we did more than glance at it. We watched the entire film with our jaws literally dropped in shock.

I was too ashamed to admit that I didn't know what a Tranny was. I was enlightened later on by WillYum (Thanks, again).

If someone were to write a Gay Dictionary for Dummies, I would be the first in line to purchase it. There are so many terms, labels, phrases that confuse me. Words like Butch, Femme, Stud, Dom, Top-boys, Bottom-boys,carpet munching, salad-tossing,rimming, gender-queer...the list goes on and on. It's like you guys speak in this exotic language that I don't understand. I apologize for sounding like an idiot, but it's all the forest and the trees to me.

I feel like I've been living in this dark bubble for 32 years.

P.S. I don't think that we can use any of the stuff seen in that movie for our story. I'm almost certain that it would get us thrown out of the class...

Okay, WillYum, I followed your suggestion and went on Urban dictionary, and now I'm even more confused than I was before. I went on the site and started clicking on everything...

I would look up one word, then there would be a word in that definition that I didn't know and I would look that one up, and it would lead to another word and another and another...and now I've got a damn headache.

For example, the word 'rimming' led to 'tossing-salad'.

I don't know how in the hell I ended up on 'Dirty Sanchez' or 'Dirty Rodrigues' (I've learned that they're related... cousins, I think) I stumbled on the word 'scat' and that did it for me.

Okay, 'Broken Hearts Club' and 'Latter Days' it is, then. Good night.

i dont know if broken hearts club is on dvd, ive only ever seen it on tv.

wow it sucked so bad.

but seeing the host from ripleys believe it or not in a gay role was funny.
