I agree: more people need to take more active approaches instead of sitting around and waiting and whining.
As for monogamy, unless BOTH partners are comfortable and happy with an open/polyamorous relationship, I totally agree. My partner is monogamous. I'm polyamorous. However, I would never do anything outside our relationship because she isn't into it. It's a matter of respect. She understands that I'm polyamorous, but she knows and trusts me not to cheat. Which is something I won't do. _________________ "There is but one temple in the universe and that is the body of man."

as long as both people agree and use protection then thats one thing.
but as far as i go i have no desire to be with anyone else, im very untrusting and it took months of dating and years of being friends before mike and i even had sex.
and plus i know he wouldnt cheat because hes too damn lazy. _________________ "I love it when people give up chocolate for lent...OHHH just like being nailed to a cross...hey God, get over here we gotta open up the Pearly Gates, this bitch is going like 40 days without a Kit Kat Bar!"

he he -- hijack away (lame pun intended), i feel a little like i'm eavesdropping, but thanks myc and willy for your answers:
first of all, i did NOT know that straight women write gay erotica all the time. hunh? is it just formulaic then? up 'til now i've been indulging in reading the straight erotica on the sister site (lustylibrary.com) and just got more and more frustrated bec it really did start to feel formulaic and the stories that i like the most are the ones that seem more character driven but actually had a plot, though really there's something to be said for intensity.
i having gotten to the first chapter at issue yet; that won't come until the next chapter (#6). i'm not sure the stories have a place on here though, otherwise i might try posting them. maybe just random chapters? one problem is that it's a fantasy story: people with wings who live in the mountains, people with gills who ride whales, and just us boring types. maybe i can pull out random, relevant chapters ...
any take on this?
(p.s. i've never heard a hard-on described as 'heavy' -- is that really what it feels like?)
*chuckles* Nah, we hijacked your thread. You're officially part of this nuthouse.
As for the author genders, oh, Lord, yes! You'd be amazed how many writers of gay erotica/romance/erotic romance out there (even those with male pen names) are really women. LOL I write for several epublishers, and using Torquere Press as an example, I can count the number of actual male writers, out of the MANY MANY authors there, on one hand.
yeah women right stuff all the time, same way men write lezzie porn and shit.
i supose you could use the word heavy if he was well off. hard to desrcibe it in a way thatd help you, just tense throbbing. _________________ "I love it when people give up chocolate for lent...OHHH just like being nailed to a cross...hey God, get over here we gotta open up the Pearly Gates, this bitch is going like 40 days without a Kit Kat Bar!"

heh heh. just on a lark i went to a site that is supposed to take your writing sample and score it for different words (is, if, with ... etc) to tell you if the analysis results show the author is male or female.
it's sort of along the lines of reading your horoscope in the paper --
so i put in each chapter of my story that i've written so far, one by one. the verdict? chapt 1 with the het sex scene scored overwhelmingly in the "this is a female author" category, with the "this is a male author" only scoring half as much.
with each subsequent chapter (including another one with a het sex focus), the "male" scored higher and higher and the "female" scored lower and lower until i got to the chapter that focused only on a battle scene. that one scored more as "male", outstripping the "female" by a good margin.
i know a female writer who uses a pen name with just initials so no one can tell.
if that helps. _________________ "I love it when people give up chocolate for lent...OHHH just like being nailed to a cross...hey God, get over here we gotta open up the Pearly Gates, this bitch is going like 40 days without a Kit Kat Bar!"

Probably half the porn in the big gay porn anthos is written by women who use either pen names or thier intials. With some publishers it is a requirement even among their editorial staff. _________________ ~James
