I've gotten a kick out of watching the crocodile hunter guy for years. And I was always saying to myself, "Man, one day that guy is gonna get it!"
I figured it'd be a snake-bite or a croc or something, but damn... to get impaled through the heart by a stingray?! Jesus!
I can't imagine what that would have felt like. Plus the guy pulled out the barbed tail himself before he died. Crazy. Knowing steve, he probably did it more to help the animal than to save himself.
It's tragic, but not terribly surprising. he seemed to be a really good guy who just legitimately loved animals. too bad. I feel for his family.
It's funny, I only started watching him recently. A guy I'm dating is super into him, so....naturally I've started to watch him a lot too - and I loved the guy! I couldn't believe it was really true when I heard the news he had died....and in such a freak accident. I bet he'd be proud to go out that way though, the only consoling thing I can think of... _________________ life is good.
I actually have a Steve Irwin action figure from when he had that movie out a few years ago where he fought terrorists with alligators or something. I actually feel a little bad for making fun of the guy now... _________________ "Wetter is Better"

He had his own action figure?! This changes my entire impression of the man's success...
You guys should hold onto those steve irwin figures, they're collectors items now! (wow... i really don't have any respect for the dearly departed...) _________________ makes out like a bandit.
I always found him a bit obnoxious myself, especially when he held his newborn child over the croc-pit. but i also always felt that the guy just genuinely loved what he did. Well, i guess you'd have to love it or you wouldn't do it. In any event, its a shame he went out the way he did. Sounds awful. _________________ "God is an imaginary friend for grown-ups"

Yeah, I was sad to hear of his passing, too. Poor guy. _________________ "A man can be happy with any woman as long as he does not love her."
