Alright, so I was in London a little while ago for business (and maybe a little bit of pleasure) and I went to a gay bar to have a little bit of fun. I met this very good looking guy outside the bar as I was leaving and we starting talking and stuff, and eventually we decided to go back to my hotel room to do whatever. So we were in my room and made out a little bit, getting rather intimate. And that's when he told me that he was 16. I was totally taken aback - he looked much older. I had previously told him, truthfully, that I was 24, and I thought he was in his early twenties too. He obviously wanted to do it with me but I still felt that going any further would be like taking advantage of him. I didn't even know if it was legal in England. So, I told him that I couldn't really do anything else with him and that he should probably leave. He left, but looked obviously upset and unsatisfied. I felt awful the rest of the night. I did the right thing, right?

you did the right thing, buddy. you could have gone to jail! if he was unsuccessful in attepting to get with his own age then he needs to wait two years. wht you did was enough to throw you in jail but good thing you stopped when you did. i'm sure he would've been great but seriously thats just wrong. whether he's 12 or 16, you did the right thing.

i think its a judgement call, but the kid clearly wasnt a virgin, and 16 is the legal age in england. personally i wouldnt have cared if he was 16, younger is iffy but a 16 year old is an adult in my eyes. i started having sex with my bf at 13 and i was old enough to handle it, so assuming all 16 year olds are just kids is kind of biased.

I was sixteen when I started messing around but couldn't really understand the idea of a one night stand or sex just for fun. I always imagined that since we were being intimate we were in a relationship. I learned my lesson the hard way so I admire you for not leading him on and going through with something you weren't comfortable with. I'm sure he felt bad but after a while he was fine and looking for someone else.

Nope, you missed an opportunity. The age of consent here is 16. I remember the days in the early 1990s when we fought for the age of consent for gays to be lowered to 16, in line with the straights. So, yes, 16 it is!

You absolutely did the right thing. Being legal does not make it right. He was still a child, no matter what the age of consent is in the U.K.
